Meet the Team

Amanda Westlake is a full-time creative, living between a 9–5 as a senior designer for a nonprofit and a 5–9 devoted to everything else she feels called to make. Her evenings are spent writing moody novels, designing Wallflower Magazine, trying new crafts, thrifting eclectic outfits, and creating self-portraits inspired by the stories in her head that won’t let go.

Her contribution to Design Right is rooted in a lifelong conviction that Good Ideas deserve Good Visuals, a belief that first took shape when she started a design-forward magazine for Christian girls at just thirteen years old. You can find her at wallflowergarden.com or on Instagram @amanda.m.westlake.

Ben Westlake hails from America’s Dairyland, where he was raised in a Christian household grounded in pro-American values. He was immersed in conservative politics from an early age, participating in his father’s U.S. Senate and Wisconsin State Assembly campaigns.

He originally arrived in California to advance his design career in professional hockey, but left the industry in pursuit of work that aligned with his values. Ben views art and design as real, tangible communication of the virtues of truth and beauty – rooted in the divine and expressed visually. These convictions often sneak their way into his PSDs and motivate his contribution to Design Right. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Amanda, who tolerates his Warped Tour-esque playlists on their morning commute.
